Alex Pierratos, Electrical Engineering Manager
Alex Pierratos is a second year Engineering student in Applied Mathematics with a specific focus on systems and robotics. Though his interest in solar energy applications started in high school, his first engineering project on the subject was in his first year at Queen’s. He and three other students designed and built a solar powered laptop charger for the XO laptop and were the inaugural winners of the Mason Cup – awarded for the best design amongst first year engineers. From the breadth and depth of knowledge absorbed from his engineering courses, he intends to design control systems and develop software able to be implemented for QSDT’s home.
